    Spark 2010 presented 24 programs, including musical, theatrical and dance concerts, talks, outdoor performances, late night dance parties, and gallery exhibitions; all events were free and open to the public. This years Spark events were hosted at four on- and off-campus venues in the West Bank of Minneapolis, including the famous and hitherto unexplored Minneapolis Love Power Church building. The events over September 29 to October 2 of 2010 were attended by over 2300 people.

     

    Spark 2010 received 449 submissions from 33 countries, of which 80 works from 15 countries were programmed. In addition to works from the open submission call, works by 15 featured national and international artists/groups, including internationally renown artists like Fred Frith, Furt, and Klaxon Guele, were presented to the public. Spark 2010 accepted submissions in six categories: 1) Composer/ Performer, 2) Dance/Theater, 3) Improvisation, 4) Installation, 5) Nightlife and 6) Video/Animation.
